Cristiano Ronaldo is under fire with Italian authorities as he allegedly broke the country’s Coronavirus regulations.
Controversy broke out in Italy as news of Ronaldo’s recent trip arose. According to Corriere dello Sport, Cristiano and his girlfriend took a two-day trip to the Courmayeur region to celebrate Georgina’s 27th birthday. If the rumors are true, this means that the Juventus star clearly breached the current regulations that Italy have in place to prevent the spread of Covid-19.
In order to make the trip, Cristiano Ronaldo crossed the border between the regions of Piedmont and Valle D’Aosta. These regions have both been flagged as orange areas by the Italian government. Therefore, the player and his girlfriend were not allowed to travel without a clear motive. Moreover, the young couple is rumored to have stayed in a hotel that has been officially closed for public use.
The controversy took a serious turn as Ronaldo is now being investigated by the Italian police. In fact, the Juventus player will most likely be fined for his dangerous behavior. To make matters worse, a third-party released a video were Cristiano and Georgina are pictured on a snowmobile in a snowy area. Although the clip was quickly taken off the internet, there was still time for fans to share it and it has since turned viral.
Cristiano Ronaldo will now await the consequences of his recent trip as investigations have begun. Additionally, Juventus are yet to release a statement on the matter. At the moment, there is no indication that the Portuguese star will also be punished by the club.
