Jordan Pickford was at fault on Leicester’s equalizer at this Wednesday night’s Premier League clash.
Everton’s goalkeeper Jordan Pickford is the living definition of an inconsistent player. Although his talent is undeniable and he has delivered some wonderful saves over the years, the England international makes a few shocking mistakes once in a while.
Leicester were on a roll as they faced Everton at Goodison Park this Wednesday. The Foxes had won the last three Premier League matches and currently sit in third place of England’s first-tier. However, the Toffees gave Brendan Rodgers’ squad a run for their money as James Rodriguez scored a wonderful goal in the first half.
However, the second half told a very different story as the Foxes decided to give their manager a late birthday present. Leicester continuously pressed Everton and eventually got their chance for an equalizer as Tielemans was given some space outside the box.
The Belgian midfielder took his opportunity and delivered a fairly good shot at the goalkeeper. The ball was put in the middle of the goal and it looked like a somewhat easy save for Pickford. However, the England international failed to make the clearance as he touched the ball with his hand but saw it going in any way.
In fact, this couldn’t have pleased England’s manager Gareth Southgate who was watching the match from the stands. After Pickford’s mistake, the coach will undoubtedly be looking for further options for the goal.
