But all that changed tonight with Ibrahimovic returning to for by scoring a brace at Cagliari. The first goal came early from the spot after a penalty was awarded to Zlatan, who transformed it into the opener. As the result held for the remains of the first half, more was to come from the visitors in the second half. However, the win wasn’t going to come easy as some obstacles were evident after the break.

AC Milan started strong during the second half with another Zlatan special after a precise assist from Calabria. The ref disallowed the goal for an alleged off-side but rectified soon after VAR confirmed Ibrahimovic’s position was legal. After this second goal, things started getting difficult for the visitors.
Kjaer had to leave the game early with some physical problems, then Saelemaekers left his teammates with 10 after a red card. All of this meant that Stefano Pioli’s players had to hold the result for more than half an hour. Ibrahimovic had a couple more chances to score his hat-trick but he couldn’t do it in the end. This new victory from AC Milan leaves them steady at the top with 43 points, which is three above Inter Milan.
