The new PSG manager has won three of his opening four games in charge and claimed his first-ever trophy recently.
Keylor Navas revealed Mauricio Pochettino’s new ideas have left Paris Saint-Germain ‘very motivated’, with the squad having successfully adapted to his plans so far.
After a 1-1 draw with Saint-Etienne on his debut, Pochettino has helped oversee three consecutive victories. One of them, of course, was the French Super Cup final last week, where PSG defeated Marseille 2-1 to win their manager his first major honor.
And while a positive COVID-19 test kept the Argentine sidelined for Saturday’s trip to Angers, Layvin Kurzawa’s second-half goal was enough to seal a 1-0 victory and to send PSG to the top of the Ligue 1 table – temporarily at least.
“We are trying to adapt to the ideas of the coach,” Navas told Canal+.
“We are very motivated. We try to have a good block and be good in transitions. We are managing to apply his ideas. Everything is fine and we have to keep working.”
On Saturday’s win in Angers, the goalkeeper added: “Winning is the most important thing tonight, because we knew how to suffer when it was necessary to do so.
“The team had the patience to gain the three points and this part of our game makes us stronger. They had good counter-attacks, and my team-mates made an effort to be solid defensively.”
