The 17-year-old debutant nearly pulled off one of the great FA Cup shocks in recent history and even made headlines after the final whistle.

You had to fear the worst for Aston Villa on Friday. In a team that had seven players from the U-23 squad and four U18s, without a minute of first-team football to their name, beating Liverpool was always going to be a tall order.

And after Sadio Mane’s fourth-minute opener, Villa would’ve feared things could get messy.

But, in a brilliant moment of FA Cup magic, Louie Barry stepped forward to score a brilliant equalizer just before the break. The teenager, who formerly played for West Brom and Barcelona at youth level, withstood pressure from Rhys Williams to slot the ball into the back of the net like a seasonal pro.

Liverpool may have responded with three second-half goals to snatch a 4-1 win, but Barry did himself proud. He almost had a nightmare at the end of the game, however, upon swapping shirts with Fabinho.

After being told he’d just given away his debut jersey, the 17-year-old raced down the tunnel to hunt the Brazilian down and get it back.
