During Monday’s press conference ahead of Barcelona’s match vs Eibar, Ronald Koeman reacted to Lionel Messi’s public approval.
Lionel Messi revealed he feels Barcelona did the right move when they signed Ronald Koeman as the club’s manager. Despite not having the same philosophy with which the Blaugranas triumphed in the past, Koeman is a Barcelona legend. He is the man who scored the winning goal that made them win their first-ever Champions League title.
Simply put, Ronald Koeman understands how important it is returning the club back to glory. As such, he’s been doing a steady good job with the squad. In Messi’s view, the team has been improving despite the current crisis it’s going through. Koeman might be a pragmatic man but he is making decisions that are correct thus far with the squad.
Koeman thanks Messi for his words.
After Lionel Messi’s interview with Jordi Evole, Ronald Koeman reacted to Leo Messi’s public approval. This is a major motivation for the Dutch manager to continue doing the work he’s been doing so far. He revealed how he felt about Messi’s words through Sport: “I didn’t watch the interview live but of course I’ve seen it through the media. Knowing his opinion is perfect. In his case, I’ve always been relaxed and I can’t be any more after today. It’s hard for me to be of any influence, all I can do is get the best out of every match and see what happens after that.
“Of course I feel grateful about what he said. He is a very important player for this club, for world football and anybody likes getting praised. I’m still the same manager, this is a transition year and Leo is a key element in this club.”
