The Gunners are in desperate need of reinforcements after suffering their worst start to a league campaign in over four decades.
Mikel Arteta has revealed plans have been made for the January and summer transfer windows. Arsenal technical director Edu will take care of the business side of things, while he returns his full focus to the pitch.
Eight defeats, two draws, and just four wins have come in the Gunners’ 14 league games. It’s left the club down in 15th place and only four points above the relegation zone in the Premier League table.
It’s the club’s worst start to a league campaign since 1974/75, leaving Arteta under the spotlight.
The Arsenal’s manager’s decision to omit Mesut Ozil has frequently been questioned, with a lack of creativity cited as the squad’s main problem.
Edu has already acknowledged this fact, suggesting he could make another attempt to sign Houssem Aouar from Lyon. Norwich star Emi Buendia is another reported target on Arteta’s wishlist.
“The planning is done, what we want to do in January and in the summer,” said Arteta as quoted on Football London.
“Sometimes you can do it, sometimes not depending on a lot of factors. Edu is dealing with that at the moment and I’m focused with all the games, we don’t have much time to spend energy now on that because it’s very clear what we want to do.
“My job is to make the most out of this squad, the players that we have. We know what we want to do and we will try to execute it knowing that the actual context, market and what we’ve been through makes it’s difficult.”
Arsenal will face Manchester City on Tuesday night in a Carabao Cup quarter-final clash.
