Despite Arsenal’s appalling form of late, legendary goalkeeper David Seaman says he retains full support for manager Mikel Arteta.
David Seaman admits the Gunners are on a terrible form at the moment and must respond to that by backing Arteta in the January window.
A forgettable start to the 2020-21 campaign has a north London heavyweight languishing in 15th spot. Four days to Christmas and the Gunners are only a mere four points clear of the relegation zone.
Confidence has taken a serious hit at Emirates Stadium, with Arsenal lacking a spark at both ends of the field.
Exactly one year after his appointment, there are suggestions Arteta could be facing the sack at the club already. However, multiple reports continue to claim that the Spaniard retains the full backing of the Gunners hierarchy.
David Seaman retains faith in the Spaniard as well but has said the Gunners must sell some players and also bring in quality replacements in the upcoming transfer window.
“I like how he speaks, and my friends give me great reports of what he does at the training ground.” Seaman said on Arteta as quoted by the Mirror.
“For me, he needs to stay and the club need to back him in getting the players he wants.”
“At the moment, there are a few players at Arsenal that maybe need to leave to create funds to get better players.”
