Tottenham star Harry Kane has been severely criticized over his behavior on aerial challenges by a former Spurs midfielder.

We have seen the England captain back away from mid-air challenges in the last minute several times this season. According to Jamie O’Hara, this behavior is dangerous as it can cause serious injuries on his opponents.

Additionally, Jamie O’Hara told talkSPORT officials need to take action on this type of play before someone gets badly hurt.

“If the ball is coming into your chest and you’re sticking into someone and you’re holding your back in, that’s fine. But as soon as that player jumps and you go on a spin on top of him that is serious foul play in my opinion. It needs to be taken out of the game ‘cause someone’s gonna break their neck.”

O’Hara claimed that although he loves Harry Kane, the player needs to change this aspect of his game.

“I love him but you have to get protection for players. It’s massive, and I don’t think enough has been said about it. As a player, he’s dangerous. I’ve been a player and you’re reliant on the luck of the fall. He doesn’t need to do it, he’s strong, he’s tall, he can go and win a header.”

The Tottenham striker won a penalty against Brighton last month by seeking a foul against Adam Lallana. Kane reacted to the accusations being made against him after the match.

“Unless you’re going to completely take physical contact out of the game, you’re going to get decisions where it’s a 50-50 call, and that’s all that was.”
