Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has once again expressed his surprise at fellow Premier League sides who voted against five subs.

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has called out the Premier League sides that voted against introducing five substitutes for the remainder of the season.

The German manager has been the most vocal coach in the league regarding the issue of the five-sub rule. It is no surprise given the injury crisis that has plagued Liverpool of late.

On previous occasions, Klopp has claimed he was certain 15 out of 20 managers were also in support of introducing five substitutes for the rest of the season.

However, a shareholders meeting took place on Thursday and only 10 clubs voted in favor of the rule change. Meaning the votes were not enough to force the change.

Aston Villa, Burnley, Crystal Palace, Fulham, Leicester, Leeds, Newcastle, Sheffield United, West Ham, and Wolves are the reported sides who voted against.

For the third time over the past two weeks, Jurgen Klopp has revealed he isn’t pleased with the current verdict.

“I’m not sure it’s a compromise,” he said as per BBC.

“Everybody knows my opinions about it,” Klopp added. “Everyone knows 10 clubs voted against it. It was not about advantages, it was only about player welfare. And they voted against it.

“Pretty much only they voted against them in the whole world.

“I don’t know which other leagues only have three subs. There must be a good reason for it, for all these leagues and clubs to vote for it.”

The Premier League is the only top-flight league in Europe not to be using five subs, and maybe Klopp does have a point.
