Ahead of next Thursday’s FIFA The Best Award ceremony, Marcelo Bielsa got praise from the highest possible order on Wednesday evening.

Marcelo Bielsa has been heavily criticized for getting a nomination from FIFA as one of the best three managers of 2020. Initially, there was a lot of confusion to why a manager who just promoted a club to top-flight football was getting so much recognition. However, those who understand what Bielsa means for football are in complete agreement with his nomination.

The Argentine manager himself has repeatedly stated that the biggest accolade he can get is praise from his peers at the highest level. This is exactly what just happened as Bielsa just got massive props from one of his direct competitors to win the award. In fact, the Leeds United manager got praised from the coach who will most likely win the prize tomorrow.

Hansi Flick is in awe of Bielsa as a manager.

Ahead of Bayern Munich’s Bundesliga match against Wolfsburg, Hansi Flick wanted to speak about the upcoming award ceremony. He praised Bielsa, Klopp, and gave his two cents on Robert Lewandowski’s chances to win The Best Award.

Flick spoke to the press via the club’s website: “Losing the lead is secondary right now, what matters is playing Wolfsburg. There are other great managers in the contest. Marcelo Bielsa is an elite coach. I also don’t think I need to say much about Jurgen Klopp. I wish Lewandowski scores two more goals today. The pick for the best player in the world is his great objective. No other player deserves it as much as he does. Everybody at the club wishes him the best.”
