The attacking-minded left-back has been one of the standout performers in the Rossoneri’s Scudetto charge so far this season.
Theo Hernandez cannot picture himself ever making a move back to Real Madrid.
A product of the Atletico Madrid youth academy, the Frenchman joined forces with city rivals Real Madrid after they triggered his €24 million release clause in the summer of 2017.
Initially, he was viewed as a long-term replacement for Marcelo. However, intense competition for the full-back position means he faced a lack of opportunities at Santiago Bernabeu.
Two years later, he switched La Liga for Serie A when to join AC Milan in a €20 million move.
A few eyebrows were raised over his price tag but it did not take Hernandez too long to silence the naysayers as he quickly became a key member of the team, scoring 10 goals and registering nine assists in his first 54 games for Milan.
“Would I go back to Real Madrid? I don’t see myself as ever going back,” he asserted while speaking to El Transistor.
“If it were in my hands, I would stay at Milan forever. I am in the best moment of my career and I am very happy in Milan.
Hernandez further explained: “I couldn’t do my best for Real Madrid, as I didn’t have the minutes. Without the minutes, you don’t have confidence. I arrived at a very young age, I have grown up now.”
