Borussia Dortmund’s sporting director Michael Zorc has confirmed Erling Haaland is currently in Qatar after requesting permission to travel abroad.
Erling Haaland has been a strong absence for the German side after sustaining a hamstring injury last week. Dortmund has only been able to win one out of three games without this year’s Golden Boy. Michael Zorc confirmed he requested to continue his recovery in Qatar.
“It was his wish. He is surrounded by many experts who are of course in close contact with our doctors. That’s why we gave him permission. He’s already making progress,” said Zorc.
Lucian Favre attributed his injury to an accumulation of games, as Haaland featured in all of Borussia’s clashes this season.
Dortmund’s sporting director believes the 20-year-old will be ready for action before Christmas. If the information checks-out, it would be very positive news for the German team. The striker has contributed with 17 goals in 14 games for Dortmund this season, including an impressive poker against Hertha Berlin in the Bundesliga.
Haaland arrived at Borussia Dortmund a year ago after a €20 million move from Red Bull Salzburg.
