Pjanic complains about lack of game time at Barcelona

The former Juventus man is growing frustrated over constantly being overlooked by his new manager despite his apparent quality.

Miralem Pjanic has largely been limited to a bit-part role at FC Barcelona.

Only once has the 30-year-old been named in the starting XI out of Barca’s 10 La Liga outings so far and only twice has he played the full 90 minutes in their Champions League games.

The Bosnian made the switch to Camp Nou from Juventus over the summer in a swap deal involving Arthur Melo. He had forged his reputation as one of the most creative, versatile, and consistent, players during his nine-year stay in Serie A.

Pjanic was an undisputed starter for the Italian champions but he has been unable to enjoy similar benefits with the Spanish giants, and he is not at all happy with the situation.

“Should I play more? Yes, and that’s what I want. Honestly, I don’t even understand the reason for this situation,” he told Gazzetta Dello Sport.

“It’s clear that I want to play a lot more. I know I can give a lot, and when the coach called on me, I always did well, I played good games.

“I don’t know what more than that I could do. I’m training, I’m ready.”

“I’m not satisfied and I can’t be, in my career I’ve never accepted the idea of not playing and I don’t even do it now. It’s a very delicate situation that doesn’t suit me.”
