The son of France legend, Lilian Thuram, has made impressive progress in the Bundesliga and attracted interest from top clubs.
Playing for Borussia Monchengladbach is Marcus Thuram’s sole concern at this stage of his career, and the forward insists he has ‘not spoken to any other club’.
Manchester City reportedly expressed an interest in rivaling Juventus and Barcelona for Thuram at the beginning of November. Neither of the clubs, though, have responded to these claims as of now.
But while their interest in Thuram cannot be confirmed, the 23-year-old’s progress at Borussia-Park since his €12m switch from Guingamp in 2019 has won him a spot in the French senior team and given him his first taste of Champions League football.
The Italian-born forward was also on target on Saturday to help Gladbach cruise to a 4-1 win over Schalke in the Bundesliga.
“I am currently fully, 100 percent, concentrating on Borussia and I am very happy to be here. I have also not spoken to any other club,” Thuram told Kicker on the doubts surrounding his future.
“Borussia has enabled me to take many career steps, I play the Champions League and have made the leap into the national team.
“In Gladbach, I not only grew as a player, but also as a person, and have developed further.
“Borussia was the best choice for my career.”
Thuram and Gladbach return to action on Tuesday for a Champions League match at home to Inter Milan.
