The Portuguese and the Uruguayan both joined some elite company after helping United to a marvelous comeback on Sunday night.

Manchester United beat Southampton 3-2 in what was one of the most dramatic and enthralling contests of the Premier League so far this season.

The Red Devils found themselves in an awkward situation heading into the break as they were lagging behind by two goals, but their fortune changed in the second half.

It was Bruno Fernandes and Edinson Cavani who inspired the comeback as the former opened the scoring for his side near the hour mark and the latter netted a brace in roughly the final 15 minutes of the match.

Fernandes has now scored in five back-to-back away games, with his four earlier strikes coming in trips to Leicester City, Brighton, Newcastle United, and Everton.

The attacking midfielder is only the fourth Man United player to achieve that feat after Ruud van Nistelrooy (2002 & 2003), Robin van Persie (2013), and Zlatan Ibrahimovic (2017).

Cavani had a hand in all three goals as he set up the first one with a cross from the right, fired in a shot at the left post, and finally headed home in injury-time.

The Uruguayan marksman also capped his night with a record as he became only the second player to score as well as assist after coming on as a substitute in an away Premier League game for Man United.
