The legendary Sir Alex Ferguson supports the work that the Manchester United attacker is doing in England.

Sir Alex Ferguson praised the work done by Manchester United frontman Marcus Rashford. Whereas, the former all-time great Red Devils manager joined in the cause to eradicate child food poverty. Rashford earlier was honored with MBE (Member of the British Empire) for his social campaigns. And the UK government constantly kept on changing its decision on providing free meals to the schools during vacations.

However, the 23-year-old informed that Sir Alex will be providing up to £2 million towards the FareShare charity. In fact, Rashford is the brand ambassador for this welfare organization. The United forward further revealed that Ferguson along with Sir Michael Moritz is going to help raise funds for the good deed.

For those of you who do not know, Sir Alex Ferguson grew up in Glasgow, where living conditions were poor. And he believes that Rashford has undertaken a huge responsibility to highlight the struggle going on in the country. “You have to be shocked at the number of people who are in need of food,” he said in an interview with the Times. “Marcus has opened the eyes of everyone in Britain. The work he’s done has been fantastic and we’re all so proud of him because of that.

God’s work.

“What Marcus has done is he’s led the way – people will say, ‘That boy he’s only 23 years of age’. People who are in their later ages … should be saying, ‘I can do something’.”

Rashford played his first game at Old Trafford when he was 18 years old, which was three years after the former head coach left. But the youngster has managed to impress Ferguson with his efforts on the pitch as well as outside the boundaries of football.

“He should be giving me some advice because what he’s doing at 23 is fantastic for a young person,” added Ferguson. “I’ve no need to tell Marcus because I think there’s humility in the way he lives his life. His feet are on the ground. These are great qualities to carry you through life. Football hasn’t changed him. There is a danger in football that it can change people, money can change people, stardom can change people.

“Getting a celebrity position in life can sometimes be a problem because not everyone can carry success well. And at the moment Marcus is doing that very, very well.”
