Allianz Stadium in Turin is the place where Juventus returned to the UCL activity against Ferencvaros. We have the player ratings.

Juventus needed to win tonight against Ferencvaros and Barcelona’s victory to qualify to the round of 16. The UEFA Champions League returned today with Cristiano Ronaldo back in the starting eleven in his favorite competition. As the Hungarian visitors started feeling more comfortable, they delivered a shocking early goal against the Italians.

Striker Myrto Uzuni decided to “poke the bear” by celebrating like Cristiano Ronaldo after scoring his goal for Ferencvaros. This was a terrible mistake as the Portuguese forward took this personally and responded accordingly. Near the halftime whistle, he released a potent shot from a long distance that gave his side the equalizer.

A perfect way to respond to the mockery coming from Uzuni right before going back to the dressing rooms. The second half was about to give us a game filled with missed chances created by Juventus.

Morata scores the late winner for Juventus.

During the second half, the locals had a tough time trying to get the winning goal that would qualify them to the round of 16. There were countless missed opportunities from several players throughout the whole second half. The man who finally scored the winning goal and secured the knock-out stage was Alvaro Morata.

He received an assist from Cuadrado that sealed the deal for the Bianconeri with only a few minutes left on the clock. It was a hard-fought match in which Juventus secured that result they wanted in second place in their group. We will report FC Barcelona’s result on a different piece.
