Let’s take a look at the Netherlands vs Spain international friendly player ratings that took place at Johan Cruyff Arena in Amsterdam.

The Netherlands received an interesting visit from the Spain National Team to Johan Cruyff Arena on Wednesday. This is the international friendly ahead of the exhausting week of commitments both squads have in the UEFA Nations League. Frank De Boer had an incredibly complicated test against Luis Enrique’s boys that would serve him as a blueprint for the future.

This Dutch squad is still far from the level they had under Ronald Koeman, but today’s game was proof that they are willing to improve. During the first half, they managed to hold the line against the Spaniards despite getting an early goal from Sergio Canales. Juventus’ Alvaro Morata returned to international duty after a long time with the assist for the Real Betis star. Not having electrifying players like Ansu Fati was a major disadvantage for Spain, but they had to make do with the players that were available.

Van de Beek leaves his mark.

After the start of the second half, Manchester United supporters must be fuming at Ole Gunnar Solskjaer for not using Donny Van de Beek as he should. The Dutch midfielder scored an early equalizer that meant the final result for a hard-fought match in Amsterdam. Both managers were able to test several players ahead of the upcoming UEFA Nations League matches they have to play.

The Netherlands play against Bosnia & Herzegovina at home on Sunday. They also have to visit Robert Lewandowski’s Poland exactly a week from today. Spain has to visit Switzerland on Saturday, and then get a massive visit from Germany on Tuesday. We have a wild week ahead of us. You better buckle up for everything that’s coming.
