A goal in stoppage time by Zlatan Ibrahimovic saw the home side salvage a point and establish a two-point lead atop the league table.

AC Milan were in search of a much-needed victory heading into Sunday night’s Serie A fixture, having suffered a heavy Europa League defeat against Lille that brought an end to their 24-match unbeaten streak.

However, that was not to be as they had to settle for a draw.

The home side went behind very quickly, conceding a goal within the first six minutes of the match. Just 13 minutes later, they conceded another doubled as Verona scored off of yet another set-piece.

Milan cut their deficit in half perhaps with a hint of luck. Franck Kessie volleyed the ball goalwards and it takes a huge deflection off of Giangiacomo Magnani in the way in.

The Rossoneri left it till very late to find the equalizer. At the 90+3′, Zlatan Ibrahimovic poked the ball home from substitute Brahim Diaz’s cross as the match ended 2-2.

Milan remain on top of Serie A with 17 points after seven games.
