During an interview with Sky Sports, Jose Mourinho revealed the real reason he decided to open back his official Instagram account.
Jose Mourinho has been hilariously active on Instagram again since this new season started at Tottenham Hotspur. There’s an old saying that goes: ‘If you can’t beat them, join them’. This is exactly what Jose Mourinho did after realizing that his old ways couldn’t keep up with the rest of the players who are all day on social media. In one of his first funny Instagram interventions, he appears trying to talk to his players after a game with everybody looking at their phones.
It’s funny how during his Manchester United days, he complained about Paul Pogba being too active on his phone but less on his game. But we all want to know what was the reason for this sudden change of heart? We are not complaining about this new Mourinho, he seems more approachable through there. All we want is to know how this shift happened.

Money will always talk amongst football figures and Jose Mourinho is not different. During an interview on Sky Sports, he was asked about his new found Instagram fame. It’s safe to say that Jose is starting to understand how fun social media can be. He can troll his players in a very public manner without sounding rude as he used to. This new tool might not be what the players like, but it’s here to stay.
Mourinho revealed the following on Sky Sports: “No it was not the objective. “I’m still not an Instagram man in my nature. “I have to be honest, I was asked by my sponsors to do it. They felt that when I closed my account a few years ago we had a few million followers and they weren’t happy. “So now I’m doing bit by bit, quite funny. It is no problem.”
