Bayern Munich boss Hansi Flick demands 100 percent efforts as the European champions travel to Borussia Dortmund.

The Bundesliga giants face each other in the season’s first Der Klassiker this weekend at Signal Iduna Park. Bayern Munich will fly for an away game with Borussia Dortmund for this eagerly anticipated tussle. At the moment, the German champions and the team in Black and Yellow have 15 points each on the league table. Though Bayern leads solely because of the goal difference, and boss Hansi Flick is expecting the entire world to watch the match.

However, there is some news from the team for the Bavarians. Flick is delighted to have Leon Goretzka back on the field following his calf injury. Although, Bayern will have to perform without the help of Niklas Sule and Joshua Zirkzee due to recent COVID19 tests. Dortmund, on the other hand, will attack with their resilient force to match up to the standards of Bayern. Nevertheless, Flick is aware that his opposition possesses a huge threat.

And he said in a news conference on Friday: “Dortmund are an exceptional team. They have the best defence in the Bundesliga and extraordinary qualities in switching from defence to offence.

“Dortmund have good players, not only [Erling] Haaland but also many others. Their team is very quick and we have to stop them by standing compact and defending well.

“That’s why it is important that we as a team act just like we have in recent games. I’m looking forward to the match. These matches are the icing on the cake for everyone: Players, coaches, the staff, and the fans.

“Haaland is not the only player we have to pay attention to. The whole team needs to be at 100 percent.”

Moreover, Flick is expecting that this is an important fixture and will attract attention from most parts of the globe.

“Obviously you want to win the matches against Dortmund. It’s the German ‘Clasico’. Everyone is motivated,” he continued. “We all know that not only all of Germany is watching, but the whole world [too]. That’s what gives us extra motivation for this match.

“We are as confident as ever in our qualities and that’s why we will try everything in order to leave the pitch as the winner on Saturday.”
