Head coach Thomas Tuchel informed about an injury issue regarding PSG’s youngster ahead of their Champions League battle.
There is some good news for Paris Saint-Germain after all as star forward Kylian Mbappe will rejoin the team soon. However, according to head coach Thomas Tuchel, the Frenchman will not feature in the Champions League clash vs RB Leipzig on Wednesday.
The German side will yet again face PSG having met in August’s semi-final in the tournament. The French champions though outperformed Leipzig by 3-0 only to lose against Bayern Munich in the final. Although, it will be a great challenge this time with the absence of key players Neymar and Mbappe.
In a turn of unfortunate events, both the players suffered from injuries during the last week. The Brazilian will be out with a groin issue until the end of November international break. Whereas, Mbappe sustained a small muscular problem on the weekend’s clash with Nantes. But, the good news for all the Parisians is that his injury is not major.
“It will not be long. The injury is very minor,” Tuchel explained to reporters when asked if Mbappe would also miss several matches for his club. “Unfortunately, he is in a risk zone. The doctor explained this to me. He couldn’t be with the team, it’s a shame for us.
“We can’t take risks, that would have been too much, and we have to find solutions without Kylian.
“We will have eleven key players tomorrow and we will do it as a team. If you read the list of absentees and the squad that is there, it’s not going to be a big secret to know who starts tomorrow, you have to trust the eleven players. It will be a team effort.”
