Paul Pogba cut a dejected look as his tackle in the second half saw Arsenal awarded a penalty and cost his side all three points.
Paul Pogba has accepted to take the blame after he conceded the penalty that ultimately saw Arsenal snatch a 1-0 win at Old Trafford.
The Gunners had not won in the Premier League at that venue since 2006. Coming into this fixture, the Red Devils’ form saw many tip them as favorites to win the clash.
For most of the game, Arsenal were the better side and had more clear chances at goal ahead of their opponents.
Three out of the last four times, this fixture has ended in a draw. It looked like it was set to happen again until Paul Pogba made a clumsy tackle.
The Frenchman brought down Hector Bellerin in the 69th minute and gifted Arsenal a penalty. Pierre Emerick-Aubameyang stepped up to score and the Gunners held on for a win.
After the game, Pogba insisted he is to blame for his side’s loss.
“We know it’s a poor performance. Myself, I cannot give a foul away like this,” he told the BBC as quoted by the Express.
“I thought I would touch the ball but I didn’t. (I) cost us the goal today with the penalty.”
“Like I say, details. We have to do better, the team, myself, it starts with me.”
“I felt like I touched him a bit, I knew I was in the box, I shouldn’t have given a penalty away like that.”

That result means Paul Pogba and his teammates have not won at Old Trafford this season. United take on Everton away next week before another game against West Brom at Old Trafford.
