Ex-Real Madrid and Barcelona player Luis Milla believes Sergio Ramos would retire at the club and is fully deserving of it.
Ramos is without a doubt one of the most decorated players and captains in Los Blancos history.
Real broke the record for a Spanish defender by paying €27m to sign him as a youngster from Sevilla.
Having played as a right-back and center-back in his early years, Ramos has continued to perform consistently year in year out.
Even on the national front, he was a star for Spain and helped his country win the World Cup in 2010, and the Euros in 2008 and 2012.
In his 15 years with Real, Ramos has won five La Liga titles and four Champions League crowns.
But the 34-year-old has less than a year remaining on his current contract with the club, leading to questions about his future.
However, according to Milla, who won two league titles with Real, there is no chance Ramos will leave the Bernabeu.
“I believe that Sergio Ramos will stay at Madrid,” Milla told Tribalfootbal. “He is one of the best central defenders in the world.
“He plays and leads with 100% determination and scores important goals too. For what he represents, Sergio Ramos merits staying on at Real Madrid.
“Like Casillas and Raul, Ramos is an emblematic player and I would like to see him staying on at Real Madrid in some sort of role for the club after he retires as a player.”
Despite a standing policy on ‘over-aged’ players, there is no reason why Real Madrid would not consider giving him an extension. Regardless of his age, Ramos still remains one of the best in the game.
