It could be a while before Inter Milan resume benefitting from the services of Alexis Sanchez, who has a problem with his thigh.
Alexis Sanchez was in the starting XI as Inter Milan took to the pitch for their Champions League curtain-raiser on Wednesday night, but could last for just 45 minutes.
The Chilean forward, who was making only his second start for Inter this season, was replaced by Lautaro Martinez at half-time.
It was feared by the fans that the 31-year old could yet again be set for a spell on the sidelines with a possible injury.
A statement released on the club’s official Twitter account then confirmed their fears mentioning that Sanchez was ‘experiencing a problem with his right adductor muscle’.
It remains to be seen how serious is his injury and for how long he would remain out of action.
“Sanchez needs to be evaluated by the medical staff,” manager Antonio Conte said after the 2-2 draw against Borussia Monchengladbach, via Sempreinter.
“Sometimes you need to interpret with Alexis and figure out what’s going on, but we’ll see tomorrow what the situation is.”
Sanchez enjoyed a fruitful loan spell at the club last season following which he was signed on a permanent basis.
The former Manchester United, Arsenal, and FC Barcelona man has taken in a total of 37 appearances for Inter so far, scoring four goals and registering 12 assists.
