Thomas Tuchel has revealed his admiration for Paul Pogba, labeling him as one of the finest players in his position in the world.
Paris Saint-Germain host Manchester United on Tuesday night in what will be a curtain-raiser for the 2020/21 Champions League for both the contestants.
The Group H fixture has the potential to be one of the most exciting matches early in the campaign, if recent history is anything to go by.
Man United knocked PSG out of the competition in at the Last-16 stage when the two sides last met in March 2019, overturning a two-goal deficit suffered in the first leg and winning the tie on away goals in the second.
Speaking the pre-match press conference, Thomas Tuchel suggests shutting down the opposition’s midfield, consisting of potent players in Paul Pogba and Bruno Fernandes, would be key for his side.
“The team has changed a lot, there are new players, new options, they have more experience,” Tuchel told reporters, via MEN.
“Pogba is still a key player, one of the best midfielders in the world for me.
“Fernandes is also key, he’s got a lot of assists, is delivering a lot and can deliver to players really deep like [Anthony] Martial and other players, really fast players. Pogba, [Nemanja] Matic, and Fernandes is really strong as far as midfield and they’re also dangerous with free-kicks.”
