On a live TV program, Argentina international Sergio Aguero joked about his relationship with a superstar teammate.

Sergio Aguero jested about his relationship with Lionel Messi. Subsequently, he describes it in a rather funny way by saying “an old married couple”. This is when they meet each other while playing for Argentina.

The Manchester City striker is a member of the Argentina senior team since 2006. Evidently, Aguero played 97 matches while netting 41 goals for his nations.

The 32-year-old is the third-leading goalscorer after Gabriel Batistuta and Messi, of course. Consequently, Aguero falls on the list with an overall of 71 goals.

Messi debuted for Argentina in the year 2005. Since then, the Barca superstar and Aguero built a close relationship on and off the field. Moreover, they have played together at three World Cups, four Copas America, and the 2008 Olympics.

“An old married couple”.

Nevertheless, Aguero mentions that staying in the same room as Messi created a different relationship between them.

“He always complains, we are like an old married couple,” Aguero joked on the “Santo Sabado” program.

“I always fall asleep with the TV on and when I wake up the next morning he is always complaining to me.

“He arrives at the hotel and is instantly taking a shower while I’m just sitting talking on my mobile phone. Then he will remind me that we need to go down to dinner and we do not have time.”

Messi netted the only goal for Argentina vs Ecuador to start CONMEBOL’s World Cup qualifying tour.

With the addition of that goal, the Argentine brings his tally to 21. Though, his former Barcelona teammate Luis Suarez has 22 goals and is on the top.

Aguero, Messi, and Argentina will feature against Bolivia on Tuesday for qualifiers. Additionally, they will face Paraguay and Peru in the next month.

However, Aguero is still recovering from injuries as Manchester City clashes Arsenal on the weekend. Also, the Cityzens will play vs Porto on October 21 in the Champions League opening fixture.

In the meanwhile, Messi will captain Barcelona against Getafe on the weekend. The Catalan giants will face the Hungarian club Ferencvaros in the European competition later.
