Official: Fulham pull off 3 brilliant deadline day signings

Fulham pulled off a brilliant deadline day coup by signing three new players just in the nick of time.

Life back in the Premier League hasn’t been kind for Fulham upon losing all four of their games this season. It’s left them rock-bottom in the standings without a single point to their name. So in times of desperate need, the club responded by bringing in three new players on transfer deadline day.

The capture of Ruben Loftus-Cheek on loan from Chelsea is, without a doubt, their biggest coup. The 24-year-old has signed up for the season, hoping to rediscover his best form following a long-term Achilles injury.

“I’m really happy to come ‘next door,’ if you will! I watched Fulham at the start of the season and they looked like they’re playing decent football,” Loftus-Cheek told the club’s website.

“With this manager [Scott Parker], I think I can get back to my best football. That’s the main thing for me, to find my form and help this team win games.”

Next up is Tosin Adarabioyo, who has joined Fulham on a €1.65m deal from Manchester City. The 23-year-old central defender, who made just eight appearances for the Citizens’ first-team, hopes to prove his worth in the English top-flight.

He previously spent time on loan at West Brom and Blackburn in the Championship, but never got to experience Premier League football at either club or City.

“I’m very excited, very excited to get going and finally be playing Premier League football,” said Tosin after putting pen-to-paper on a three-year contract.

“I felt like the time was right to leave the [Man City] and push on. It was the right time in my career to move on and hopefully get a lot of Premier League games.”

And, finally, Fulham rounded things off by signing Joachim Andersen on loan from Lyon for this season.

The Danish center-back, who helped Les Gones reach last season’s Champions League semi-finals, hopes to get regular starting opportunities at Craven Cottage after struggling to do so in France.

Andersen, who has also played for Serie A side Sampdoria and FC Twente in the Dutch Eredivisie, said: “It is crucial for me to play a lot.

“I have scrutinized the situation, watched their matches and I got a really good impression of the club and the manager, with whom I have had some in-depth discussions.

“Of course, I have also spoken to my good friend and teammate from both Twente and Lyon, Kenny Tete, who has only good things to say about Fulham. I am really looking forward to getting settled and to show my skills in the best league in the world.”
