Juventus just announced that the squad and all its staff have to go into fiduciary isolation for precaution. The Italian giants reported that two staffers from the club tested positive for COVID-19. This forced them to take such a drastic measure. This new development came on the same day Napoli was blocked from traveling to Turin for the scheduled Serie A match vs Juve on Sunday.
Although none of the technical staff or players have tested positive. This isolation period is necessary to ensure the health of all members inside the club. All of this means Cristiano Ronaldo will have to isolate himself from anyone who isn’t inside the club as a precautionary measure as well. No further information about his situation has been shared as of now.
Juventus refuses to postpone the match.
After the news of Napoli’s problems surfaced, Juventus also confirmed they will step on the pitch to play on Sunday. This feeds more controversy to one of Italy’s most bitter rivalries and leaves everything to chance.
Here’s the full statement from Juventus’ official website: “Juventus Football Club announces that. During the checks provided for by the protocol in force, two staff members tested positive for COVID-19.
“These are neither players nor members of the technical or medical staff. However, in compliance with the regulations and the protocol, the whole extended team has gone into fiduciary isolation.
“This procedure will allow all members who tested negative to the controls to carry out regular training and match activities, but will not be allowed contact with outside the group. The Club is in constant contact with the competent health authorities.”
