As one of the most coveted defenders in the world, Kalidou Koulibaly is making PSG get in the way of Manchester City’s attempts to sign him.

It’s safe to say that Kalidou Koulibaly is amongst the most desired defenders in the world and PSG wants him. The Senegal international established himself as one of the best center-backs in the world as a Napoli player. Clubs such as Manchester United, FC Barcelona, Chelsea, and Manchester City have made inquiries about him. The Italian giants seem to have realized that they might not be able to keep the star for much longer.

The Citizens were the most recent to make an offer for Koulibaly. This offer was rejected because it didn’t fit the club’s demands. Out of all the clubs in Europe that are trying to sign this player, perhaps only PSG is Manchester City’s rival to sign the player. The French giants already made an offer for the player last week but it was also rejected. However, there is new information about a fresh offer that might be too juicy to offer.

PSG want Thiago Silva’s replacement.

The first offer made for Koulibaly from PSG was of around €50 million-plus add-ons. This was instantly rejected by Napoli but the French club is willing to increase their offer. The Telegraph reported on Monday that a new number has been presented formally for the player. An offer of €80 million should be more than enough for Napoli to accept selling one of their top players.

Just like they did with Thiago Silva, Koulibaly would play at PSG during his veteran years. There is only one reason Aurelio De Laurentiis would accept selling his best players. That reason is always money. For the chairman, it never matters where those players go as long as they leave a massive payday in the club’s bank account. It seems like the Senegal international is finally leaving Naples.
