Giovanni Reyna now aspires to become a regular in the Borussia Dortmund starting XI after breaking into the first-time last season.
Giovanni Reyna emerged as another promising talent in a team loaded with bright young prospects at Borussia Dortmund in 2019/20.
The 17-year old was installed in the first-team in January and went on to make a total of 18 appearances.
The forward is currently preparing for his first full season with the Dortmund senior team ahead of the 2020/21 season.
Reyna insists the pre-season has helped him build the much-needed confidence and a better connection with his teammates, and feels ready to become an important member of the BVB team.
“The most important thing for me is confidence, which I’ve gotten a lot of over the last six weeks in pre-season. I’m doing well, I’ve gotten closer with a lot of the guys,” he said, as per Goal.
“I learned a lot last season in my first six months in the Bundesliga, getting used to the professional speed of play and physicality.
“I think I made a big jump and I think everybody knows I’m ready to play more and have a bigger role in the team now.”
BVB kick off the season with a DFB-Pokal match against MSV duisburg on Monday before welcoming Borussia Monchengladbach for the Bundesliga opener on September 19.
