Lautaro Martinez is more than content with life at Inter Milan and is not entertaining the possibility of an exit at present, asserts Javier Zanetti.

A report emerged last week claiming that FC Barcelona are preparing to step up their pursuit of Inter Milan’s Lautaro Martinez.

The report mentioned that the Catalans giants are planning on making one last attempt to bring in the Argentine attacker as they get ready to part ways with Luis Suarez this summer.

The 23-year old, who scored 21 goals across all competitions in 2019/20, is supposedly viewed by Barca as the ideal man to carry forward the team’s attack in the coming years.

Barca have constantly been linked with his signing since the last season but the rumors cooled down in light of the financial crisis brought down by the coronavirus pandemic.

Commenting on the player’s future, however, Inter vice-president Javier Zanetti insists Lautaro is happy at San Siro while denying any approach made by Barcelona.

Zanetti told TyC Sports: “In his case, being just a young player with such potential, it’s normal for other teams to look at him. But what I see each day as a Lautaro who wants to stay in Italy.

“At the moment, there are no negotiations between Inter and Barcelona.

“We’re happy with him and I know he’s happy here too. He knows that he’s at a great club and that he’s improving a lot thanks to the coach [Antonio Conte].”
