Adrien Rabiot insists he was disappointed to see Bayern Munich beat Paris Saint-Germain in the 2019/20 Champions League finals.
Adrien Rabiot signed his first professional contract with Paris Saint-Germain aged 17 years back in 2012 after impressing during his time at the club’s youth academy.
The French midfielder played a key role in the team’s success during his seven-year stint at Parc des Princes, but he also kept getting involved in several controversies.
Rabiot almost quit PSG in 2015 as he was caught in a dispute with the club over terms regarding his contract extension.
A similar situation arose three years later as he refused to renew his contract, which led to him being forced to train with the club’s reserve team.
That was after Rabiot had turned up late to a pre-match meeting, and subsequently getting dropped from the starting line-up by manager Thomas Tuchel.
In 2019, he faced a suspension for reacting positively on social media to PSG’s Champions League Round of 16 defeat to Manchester United.
Finally, in the summer of the same year, after yet another contract dispute between him and the club, he was sold to Juventus.
The 25-year old, however, has no ill feelings towards his former employers.
“In the final, of course, I was rooting for Paris despite what may have happened with PSG. I have a heart of Parisian,” he said, as per Goal.
“I was disappointed for some after this defeat, especially for Presnel [Kimpembe] because he’s a friend and he deserved it. There was also Kingsley [Coman] on the other side that I know well. I was happy for him that he won and that he made his mark.
“I was with Paris and disappointed for some suddenly, but happy for others.”
