Hansi Flick relishes the sense of festivity among the Bayern Munich players in view of their Champions League conquest.
Bayern Munich reinforced their Bundesliga supremacy by clinching their eighth consecutive and 30th overall title last season.
They then secured their second title of the season by beating Bayer Leverkusen in the DFB-Pokal final in July.
And finally, to round off 2019/20 in the most remarkable manner, they moved ahead of FC Barcelona and matched Liverpool in the number of Champions League wins as they picked up their sixth title.
It is always expected from Bayern to deliver on the big stages, but not many would have bet on them to complete a treble in the early parts of last season.
The Bavarians were in a chaotic state until November, and things only started to get better when the managerial reins were taken away from Niko Kovac and handed to Hansi Flick.
“I notice how happy I am about the Champions League title for the players,” said Flick in an interview with German publication Die Zeit.
“For Robert Lewandowski, for example, he played so well for the team and also integrated himself into the network on the defensive side.
“When I then see the players, how happy they are, and finally let their emotions out, it’s nice. It’s also important for the German national team.”
