'We'll see what happens' - Perisic raises doubts over future at Inter

Ivan Perisic wants to put off any decision on his future until after he’s done celebrating Champions League success with Bayern Munich.

It came as a surprise for the fans when Inter Milan shipped Ivan Perisic to Bayern Munich on a season-long loan deal in August 2019.

Perisic signed for Inter from Wolfsburg back in 2015 and had been a key player for them, but he struggled to fit into new manager Antonio Conte’s system during pre-season.

Recurring fitness problems saw the Croatian in and out of the Bayern line-up in 2019/20. However, he ended up having a quite productive season as he helped the team to a treble, scoring eight goals and ten assists in the overall process.

The 31-year old had a buyout clause on his contract but Bayern chose not to activate it, and hence he is expected to return to Inter. And Perisic suggests he is open to resurrecting his career at San Siro.

“It’s too bad that I did not win something in my four years at Inter, but now I am happy to have won the treble,” he told reporters, via Sempreinter.

“I still have two years on my contract with the Nerazzurri, we’ll see what happens.

“In football, everything is possible, we need to talk and see. I can’t say my will, now I want to celebrate. Then we will rest and think about the future.”
