Doctors gave Michael Ballack the all-clear from cancer after undergoing a major back surgery during lockdown in Germany.

Ballack suffered a health scare during lockdown last month when doctors discovered a tumor near his spinal cord.

The 43-year-old was feeling unwell and underwent an MRI scan, which was how doctors found the tumor. He then underwent emergency surgery in a Hanover clinic to remove the lump.

Thankfully, doctors discovered the tumor at an early stage and were able to remove it before it became serious.

German outlet Bild has now reported that laboratory tests then cleared Ballack of cancer altogether, as results showed the growth was harmless.

“It’s all good again,” sources close to Ballack allegedly confirmed.

The former midfielder is now recovering on holiday in Portugal after surgery but has released no public statements regarding his condition at the time of writing.

Ballack, who retired from football in 2012, enjoyed a brilliant career that saw him star for Kaiserslautern, Bayer Leverkusen (twice), Bayern Munich, and Chelsea.

He claimed four Bundesliga titles, three DFB-Pokal crowns, a Premier League trophy, two FA Cups and many more major honors.

The former Germany international also reached the 2002 World Cup and Euro 2008 finals in his career.
