Nemanja Matic suggests that the upcoming Europa League semi-final match would help Manchester United evaluate their capabilities.

Manchester managed to book a spot in the next season’s Champions League, a target that looked to be out of range for the most part in their Premier League season.

A remarkable run of form from which started a couple of months before lockdown and continued well until the end of the season is what pushed United to a third-place league finish.

The Red Devils, however, have shown signs of burn out in their last few games, even though they have propelled past the finishing line.

But they cannot afford to not put on their best display against the opponents that await. They will be facing Sevilla in the one-legged Europa League semi-finals.

Nemanja Matic assures that the teams have been training well and understand the importance of the upcoming match.

“We’re in the semi-final of the Europa League and we know we need to win two more games to get a trophy,” said Matic in a video call for UTD podcast.

“Everything is good, we have good facilities, better than we expected, with a very good pitch for training.

“I think everyone is happy and everyone is ready for the semi-final. We play against Sevilla, who are a very good team. It will be a great challenge for us to see where we are at the moment and we can’t wait for Sunday to play.”
