Jens Petter Hauge has admitted he is delighted to score on his European debut for Milan against Celtic on Thursday night.
Hauge came in from the bench, replacing Brahim Diaz in the 79th minute, as Milan grabbed a comfortable 3-1 win over Celtic in their Europa League curtain-raiser.
It didn’t take long for the Norwegian prodigy to make his mark as he converted after a one-on-one situation with the keeper in the 92nd minute to open his account in the red-black shirt.
Rade Krunic and Brahim Diaz were also on the scoresheet for the Rossoneri, while second-half substitute Mohamed Elyounoussi scored the only goal for the Hoops.
After the match, Hauge expressed his happiness for marking his first goal for Milan.
“I am very happy,’ said the 21-year-old, as relayed by the Football-Italia.
“I am very happy for the win and for my goal.
“We started very well, praise to my teammates for that. It was nice to see the team with an important result at the break, but if concentration drops, the other team can recover.
“That’s what happened. They halved the disadvantage, but I’m really happy for the way we ended the game, including my goal.”
Hauge joined Milan from Bodo/Glimt after impressing Stefano Pioli in the Europa League qualifying showdown between the sides.
The Serie A giants forked out just around £1.5million to close the deal, with the lightning-quick forward signing a five-year contract at the San Siro.
