Due to his imminent return after a long recovery process, Eden Hazard will force Zidane to pursue a new tactical approach at Real Madrid

Zinedine Zidane was unclear about the tactical approach he used without a player like Eden Hazard. We need to understand that when he is fit to play, the Belgian winger can be one of the deadliest dribblers in the world. He’s had a combination of overconfidence with bad fortune upon arrival at his new club.

The lack of discipline he has with his body made him pay a big price a little over a year after coming from Chelsea. When he was part of the Blues, there was nothing Eden Hazard couldn’t do. Nobody denied the unquestionable truth about his quality as a player. He was truly the best footballer in the Premier League and that’s the main reason Zidane wanted him at Real Madrid.

Today, Eden gets another chance to prove why Los Blancos paid €110 million for him as he returned to another list for the Champions League. The Spanish giants are already preparing for a complicated match in Germany against Borussia Monchengladbach. But we need to know what Zidane will change in order to give him his chance to shine.

Hazard will own the left-wing.

During all that time he was injured, Eden Hazard left an open left-wing for any player who was brave enough to take it. Usually, Vinicius was the one who wanted that responsibility but he can also play on the right. If he confirms he is completely back to his best form, nobody will take that spot from Hazard.

In fact, the right side will be disputed by four players who still haven’t been able to prove they are worthy starters. Vinicius will have to duke it out with Rodrygo, Lucas, and Marco Asensio. That is only if Eden Hazard is truly back to his best. ‘Zizou’ will probably give him a chance to play this evening sometime during the second half against Monchengladbach.

It will be another major test for him to pass and make us believe he truly got past his physical issues. Risking him from the very beginning would be a grave mistake from the manager, Hazard needs to return gradually and without rushing.
