Injury issues have intensified for Los Blancos lately, but little did it matter as they marched on to a second successive La Liga win.

Real Madrid sealed a comfortable 2-0 win against Getafe at Estadio Alfredo Di Stefano on Tuesday.

Karim Benzema put the hosts on the front foot at the hour mark, poking in a strong header from a pin-point Vinicius Jr. cross, before Ferland Mendy doubled the advantage six minutes later.

The titleholders were without a host of their regular names, including captain Sergio Ramos and maestro Toni Kroos.

With a long and growing injury list, Zinedine Zidane had to be creative in setting up his team and opted for a 3-4-3 formation with Marvin Park and Marcelo playing as wing-backs.

Speaking after the match, Zidane applauded his side’s adaptability and resilience in response to the ongoing crisis.

“Today we did this because we had to adapt to the situation with lots of absences,” the Real Madrid boss told reporters, via Managing Madrid.

“We interpreted the match very well and I’m happy for the players because that’s not easy. We were really good, especially defensively.

“I don’t think there are Madridistas who think we can’t win the league. It’s the opposite, they always think we can change things, that’s what we’ll try to do.”
