The Gunners manager is reportedly on Barca’s radar to become their next manager.

Mikel Arteta has insisted he is happy at Arsenal amid reports linking him with a move to Barcelona.

Barca’s early elimination in the Champions League has mounted pressure on Xavi Hernandez, despite his side’s impressive results in La Liga.

The Spanish media has included Arteta’s name among the Barcelona manager’s possible replacements. However, his involvement in Arsenal‘s long-running rebuild process makes it hard for the Spaniard to leave the Emirates.

“I’m extremely happy,” Arteta said in a press conference ahead of his side’s upcoming Europa League clash against FC Zurich. “I’m proud to be where I am.”

He added: “I think Barcelona now they are in a really good path.

“They have a phenomenal coach, a coach that has been an absolute legend in that club and has lifted the whole place and you have to be very respectful of that.”

Arteta was a product of Barcelona’s La Masia academy but left the club to join Paris Saint-Germain before making his senior debut.

The Spaniard might face his former club in the Europa League after Barca’s relegation to the second-tier competition. Before that, however, the Gunners must meet FC Zurich in their last group-stage match on Thursday.
