Declan Rice says he has enjoyed playing at the Theatre of Dreams despite his side’s last-minute defeat.

Manchester United defeated West Ham 1-0 in their Premier League game on Saturday. The Hammers managed to keep the hosts at bay until the last minute. However, a Marcus Rashford winner in the 94th minute ruined the evening for David Moyes’ side.

There is no need to describe Old Trafford’s atmosphere after a last-minute goal. It is so fantastic that even the opponents enjoy it!

Speaking in a post-match interview, West Ham star Declan Rice spoke about playing at Old Trafford.

“I was loving it,” the 23-year-old said.

“Every time I come to Old Trafford, I’ve always said it’s one of my favourite places to play. It’s an amazing stadium.”

Rice was one of the best West Ham players during the game as he retained his role as a key player in the Hammers’ midfield.

Asked about his side’s performance, the England international added: “We’re gutted. It was a real kick in the teeth. We fought so well. There was very little in the game, so I think a draw would have probably been a fair result.

“We’re such a good counter-attacking side, and even when it was going to the latter stages of the game, we still had the energy to get forward. To end like that and get counter-attacked on in the last 30 seconds, and to concede a goal, was a real kick in the teeth.”

Since breaking into West Ham’s senior team in 2018, Rice has gradually established himself as one of the best midfielders of the Premier League.

The West Ham star has attracted attention from several elite clubs, including Manchester United in recent seasons. However, David Moyes’ ‘far more’ than £100m price tag has fended off the suitors so far.
