Kia Joorabchian revealed an announcement will be made soon on Willian’s future following his departure from Chelsea.

Willian confirmed his departure from Chelsea over the weekend in an open letter to fans on social media and is now preparing for his next big career move.

Arsenal are the rumored favorites to sign the 32-year-old, with Mikel Arteta keen on him. In fact, Evening Standard claimed the club could seal a deal this week.

Willian has apparently completed a medical and got the three-year contract that Chelsea wouldn’t offer him. However, he’s yet to confirm anything.

Although his agent, Joorabchian, gave a similar version to what recent reports have suggested in that an announcement is imminent, but didn’t reveal the identity of Willian’s next club.

“He is a free player,” Joorabchian told talkSPORT.

“He had a fantastic seven years at Chelsea, he’s been under various managers, he’s won multiple trophies and he has a fantastic relationship with Frank [Lampard], he respected him a lot.

“But I think that cycle had come to a moment where it’s a good moment to leave.

“At the moment, just for now I can’t say where he’s going to go, for sure Arsenal are one of the contenders.

“But it won’t be long before we announce it. We know where he’s going, so it won’t be long.”

Aside from Willian, Joorabchian also gave an update on another client’s future in Philippe Coutinho.
