Juventus slipped to eighth place in Serie A after suffering a painful defeat against Verona.

Juventus were defeated 2-1 by Verona in their Serie A game on Saturday. The Bianconeri displayed no signs of improvement following their last week’s defeat against Sassuolo.

Verona stun Juve early on

The hosts started the game with two early goals from Giovanni Simeone. The son of Atletico Madrid boss Diego Simeone shocked Juventus with his goals in the first half.

Juventus tried to mount a comeback in the second half, but they couldn’t get past Verona’s solid defence. Weston McKennie scored in the 80th minute, but it wasn’t enough for Bianconeri to escape the defeat.

Massimiliano Allegri’s side slipped to ninth place on the table, right below their rivals Verona. The defeat will put more pressure on Allegri, who is already linked with a move away from the club.
