Donny van de Beek has addressed ongoing concerns over his lack of action for Manchester United ahead of Sunday’s showdown with Arsenal.

Despite reported interest from LaLiga giants Real Madrid and Barcelona, Van de Beek joined Manchester United in the summer from Ajax.

The Red Devils forked out a whopping €39m for his signature, only to limit his involvement so far. Although the Dutchman made a welcome appearance in the line-up in their midweek 5-0 Champions League win over RB Leipzig.

Now it’s a case of getting that first Premier League start under his belt, with Van de Beek having been restricted to four cameo appearances.

“Players always want to play games,” Van de Beek told the club’s website. “Training is also nice, but the games… this is why you’re playing football.

“I think a lot of games [means] we can improve always and I am sure that we will win more if we stay focused.

“Arsenal have showed that they have really good players and we need to be focused. We won [against RB Leipzig] and everybody’s happy and it’s good for the confidence and everything, but now we must go on to that game [on Sunday].

“A lot of big games are coming up now. A lot of games. We need to stay focused and then I’m sure that we’ll make more nice wins.”
