Torres on Tottenham wishlist.

Jose Mourinho’s search for a new center-back has led him to Villarreal’s Pau Torres. The 23-year-old Spaniard is an ideal candidate for the Spurs boss for he seeks ‘confidence’ and the ability to ‘make a difference at the crucial moments’ from his defenders.

Spurs, however, will have to fend off competition from FC Barcelona to sign Torres, who is contracted to the Yellow Submarines until 2024. [Don Balon]

Bernardeschi playing for Juve future.

Federico Bernardeschi will not be handed a contract extension at Juventus until he proves his worth to Andrea Pirlo.

The Italian winger arrived at the Allianz Stadium several seasons ago but is yet to deliver on expectations. As a result, Juve are hesitant to hand him a new contract despite his current one expiring in 2022.

Should he impress Pirlo in the coming weeks, the manager will request the club to offer the 26-year-old a new contract. If not, his new agent Mino Raiola may look to negotiate his transfer next summer. [Calcio Mercato]

Mkhitaryan set for Roma extension. 

AS Roma is close to agreeing to a contract extension with Henrikh Mkhitaryan, with his current one due to expire at the end of the season.

The Armenian is increasingly proving to be an indispensable asset for the Italian outfit with his leadership and productivity, having scored 15 goals and registered 11 assists in total so far.

A new deal now looks imminent for the attacker and it could be made official before Christmas. [Gazzetta dello Sport]

Real Madrid favorites to land Chukwueze. 

A host of clubs have lined up for Villarreal’s Samu Chukwueze including Real Madrid, Manchester United, Leicester City, Everton, Chelsea, Liverpool, and Wolves.

Among those, Real Madrid appears to be most well-placed to seal the transfer of the 21-year-old forward, who has a release clause worth around €80 million.

The Spanish champions, though, are understood to be preparing a combined offer of €65 million Chukwueze and Pau Torres. [La Razon]

De Bruyne ready to sign new Man City deal.

Kevin De Bruyne has reached an agreement to commit to a new five-year contract at Manchester City.

The new deal will see him become the joint-highest earner in the Sky Blues squad alongside Raheem Sterling.

The Belgian playmaker recently revealed that he was in talks for renewal, and it appears the negotiations are now complete as he is ready to extend his stay at the Etihad until 2025. [Todofichajes]

Kubo wants out of Villarreal.

Villarreal loanee Takefusa Kubo is looking to end his loan spell at the club and return to Real Madrid in January.

The talented Japanese winger moved to Estadio de la Ceramica last summer in search of regular first-team minutes but has grown frustrated at the lack of adequate playing time.

Only one start in La Liga and three in Europa League has been made by the 19-year-old so far. [El Periodico Mediterraneo]
