After his impressive Europa League performance, Gareth Bale got praised by one of his teammates for his quality with the ball.

Gareth Bale just gave us a glimpse of his old self in a match against Wolfsberger, it happened in the Europa League’s Round of 32. In recent weeks, the Welshman had some issues with Jose Mourinho for his lack of results both in games and practice. Today was a perfect time for him to get back in the manager’s good graces, which is exactly what he did. During the match, he combined beautifully with Son Heung-Min for the victory and proved to have a special connection.

The South Korean international wanted to tell the world how comfortable he feels next to Gareth. While Harry Kane recovers from his injury issues, having another star like Bale is always beneficial for Tottenham Hotspur. With his goal tonight at Puskas Arena (pun intended), Son is already involved in 30 goals for Spurs in all competitions. Bale made sure he scored this evening with a fantastic assist.

Son feels comfortable with Gareth Bale.

After winning the Puskas Award last season, Son obviously wanted to score at Puskas Arena tonight. He celebrated this achievement but he also spoke about Gareth Bale’s influence in his game: “I have a really close relationship with him,” Son said of Bale post-match via Goal. “I’m very happy he’s getting game time and scored a goal and got an assist. I really enjoy playing with him.

“We had the mindset of coming to score as many goals as we could and get some confidence. Obviously we haven’t won many lately so it’s important to get a win to breed confidence. Hopefully, this is the start of a good run. It was good [to score]. I just chopped inside and hit it. It’s nice to get on the scoresheet to help the team. It’s good to get four away goals. It’s always good to win a game by that margin. We’ll take the second leg like it’s 0-0.”
