Tottenham speedster is progressing ahead of Europa League fixture

According to reports from Jose Mourinho’s assistant Joao Sacramento, Tottenham’s striker will start the clash against Antwerp.

Tottenham superstar Gareth Bale is making a lot of improvement to start his second game of the season. The Wales international will potentially feature in Jose Mourinho’s starting XI in the Europa League fixture against Antwerp.

Bale subsequently made his first start in last week’s 3-0 win vs LASK following his return to Tottenham in summer.

The 31-year-old evidently seems to settle down in the squad after his arrival from Real Madrid on a loan.

Though, Bale came off the bench against West Ham only to see his fabulous attempt go past the frame of the goal. Mourinho’s side nevertheless conceded 3 goals in the second half to draw 3-3 following the late drama.

Although, Bale did not see minutes during Tottenham’s close escape with Burnley in the Premier League. Heung-Min Son’s exclusive header helped the north London club move up to the fifth spot on the league table.

Rehabilitation done right.

Moreover, Bale’s rehabilitation is speeding up at Tottenham under a good provision. In addition, Mourinho’s assistant coach Joao Sacramento affirmed that the former Real Madrid man will start against Antwerp on Thursday.

“I can tell you that we will make some changes but like in every previous match, the changes don’t mean that the team is weak,” Sacramento told Spurs’ official website ahead of the Group J clash.

“We believe that with the squad that we have, even with rotation, the team will keep the level and the quality of play. 

“Tomorrow, Gareth Bale will start. Gareth is improving a lot – in terms of fitness level, his condition is much, much better, he’s feeling better every day and with the interaction that we have with him, he’s feeling very positive and we believe that soon he will be at his top level again.” 

Additionally, in his 66 minutes on the field vs LASK, Bale had 44 touches with 25 passes and finished with a 72 percent accuracy.

Even after that, the Welshman did not have any attempt on target and could not create any opportunities. Bale was replaced by Heung-Min Son, who then netted the last goal for Tottenham.
