It’s time to tell you all about the main reason Florentino Perez is extremely happy with Carlo Ancelotti at the start of this new season.

Florentino Perez wasn’t 100% sure he would bring Carlo Ancelotti back to Real Madrid, but he really had no choice in the matter. The Italian manager was fresh out of a decent spell with Everton in the Premier League but nothing too great to consider. He did, however, help Real Madrid win the mythical ‘Decima’ back in 2014. Those memories are the ones that remained in the club’s fan base and Florentino was betting on that to work. Thus far, we can easily say that Perez made the right choice when he made the decision.

‘Carletto’ has the squad in first place with only victories to count in the Spanish La Liga. They play Mallorca later today but there’s a general sensation that the squad will do well today as well. Carlo is also bringing the best out of the players he currently has on the roster. Not getting to sign Mbappe has been no excuse for him because he does have young stars such as Vinicius or Fede Valverde. Plus, Eduardo Camavinga’s impact has been swift until now. If you add the experience of veteran stars to that mix, you get a proper title contender for the domestic titles at least.

Ancelotti proves he is not afraid to compete.

Even though the Italian manager still has to face the most important squads in the continent, he did already play against Inter Milan. That game was extremely difficult to win because they played in San Siro. But Carlo didn’t care about that, he felt the familiarity with that stadium as if he was coaching AC Milan back in the day. With a last-minute winner, Real Madrid won this initial match through sheer willpower.

Earlier today, he spoke to the press about several topics but he also said this via Marca: “With that attitude it always works out well, especially when you consider the quality the team has. That spirit is the basis of the results we’ve achieved. We’ve always fought to the end. Especially in the consistency of our game. In defense we’re at 60% or 70%, but so far we’ve done well. Five away games at difficult stadiums with good results shows that this team has balls.”
